Types of Flowering Trees

One way I gauge spring's approach in my yard is by observing my magnolia trees. I love it when the buds on my early-blooming magnolias are just starting to crack open, revealing a hint of long-awaited color. The forsythias aren't far behind: from bark to bud, they give off a yellowish glow in anticipation of flowering (when they're not ready to commit to spring just yet but are not very shy about their intentions, either).
